275 de Pijper – Harmonics Duet

I was improvising when the idea for this duet appeared. It’s fun to improvise with just two notes and then build a melody. Playing the correct harmonics becomes easier if you use vowels as described in the Flute Colors book.

 088 Whistle sounds – exercise 2

A 4 step exercise for a relaxed embouchure. Do you have a lot of tension in your embouchure? Whistle sounds exercises can be the answer to your problem. You have to be patient when practising whistle sounds. But if you work on them regularly they will become more easy real soon!

074 Circular breathing – trill exercise

Learning circular breathing can be challenging. But don’t give up! If you can (almost) do it use this exercise to become better. Each octave has it own challenges. This study will help you practise circular breathing in different octaves. If you can’t use circular breathing (yet) watch the videos on the Flute Colors website. Have fun!

 060 Whistle sounds

Whistle sounds are extremely useful to release the tension in your embouchure. In this piece regular sounds are alternated with whistle sounds. A very good exercise to become aware of tension in the embouchure and let it go.

 049 De Pijper – Exercise

This little melody should be played with only two fingerings. Very useful to improve your aural skills, increase your control over the embouchure, airstream and support. Your sound will benefit from this exercise!
