The first time I heard this song was by James Galway with his very big sound. The melody is beautiful. Bamboo tones seem like a great match to color the melody and give it some character. And it’s also a great brain training to learn all the fingers.

Tongue stops are funny. They sound funny, make your flute wet and it’s crazy to change the position of the flute very quickly. So don’t take this exercise too seriously. Just have fun. You will develop flexibility in changing the position of the flute, working on articulation and support.

A perfect way to work on a focused and relaxed embouchure is by studying whistle tones. These are very soft whispering tones on the flute. Make sure not to blow too hard. These tones require very little air. Use the shape of your tongue to stabilize the note.
