Flute Colors arrangements

This is the national anthem of Great Britain. We’re not sure who wrote this song. On the internet John Bull, Henry Purcell are mentioned as possible composers, but also Händel. We’ll probably never know for sure. At the coronation of King Charles, we should probably sing “God Save The King” again.

Dit is het volkslied van Groot-Britanië. We weten niet zeker wie dit lied heeft geschreven. Op internet worden John Bull, Henry Purcell als mogelijke componisten genoemd, maar ook Händel. We zullen het waarschijnlijk nooit zeker weten. Na de kroning van King Charles zingen we weer “God Save The King”.

This is an exercise on Niall Horan’s pop song ‘Heaven’, devoted entirely to wind sounds. It starts with only quiet wind sounds and then more and more alternates with traditional sounds. Very useful for flexibility.

Dit is een oefening op de popsong ‘Heaven’ van Niall Horan, geheel gewijd aan wind sounds. Het begint met alleen rustige ruisgeluiden en wordt dan steeds meer afgewisseld met traditionele klank. Erg nuttig voor flexibiliteit.

Practicing pizzicato is helpful for strengthening the tongue. This exercise starts out easy, but gradually becomes more challenging. And when you’re done with the exercise, you can do it all over again!

Het oefenen van pizzicato is nuttig voor het versterken van de tong. Deze oefening begint eenvoudig, maar wordt geleidelijk uitdagender. En als je klaar bent met de oefening, kun je de oefening nog een keer spelen!

This time the bird doesn’t sing, but we do. Adding your voice to your flute playing is an interesting feeling. Suddenly everything you are used to changed. Not only good for coordination, but also for developing sound.

This is such a beautiful tune and it’s perfect to use as a warm up exercise. But not in this case. The bibligliando trills copy the effect of a trill. The pizzicato imitates the pizzicato playing on the violin. And the wind sounds make everything melt together.

One of the most fascinating techniques on the flute are multiphonics. Not only is their sound unique, everything we’ve learned about playing with the right support and airspeed to play a note well needs to be rethought. Two relatively easy multiphonics have been chosen for this piece. Don’t think too much about it and just go for it!

Officially this is a Christmas Carol, but the melody is so beautiful that you can play it all year round. Practicing flutter tongue is helpful for support and awareness of tension in the throat. Make the movement of the flutter tongue very small. Note the intonation. Playing flutter tongue for long periods of time can be challenging. Keep enough support and make sure the airspeed is high enough for the tones.

Officieel is dit een Christmas Carol, maar de melodie is zo mooi dat je hem het hele jaar door kunt spelen. Het oefenen van flutter tongue is nuttig voor ademsteun en het maakt je bewust van eventuele spanning in de keel. Maak de beweging van de flutter tongue heel klein. Let op de intonatie. Het langdurig spelen van flutter tongue kan een uitdaging zijn. Houd voldoende steun en zorg dat de luchtsnelheid hoog genoeg is voor de tonen.
