Paolo Benedetto Bellinzani was an Italion composer of the first half of the eighteenth century. He wrote several recorder sonatas. This Adagio comes from sonata No. 10 in F major. In that time it was common to play a kind of vibrato with the fingers. The bibligliando trills remind me of that.

Paolo Benedetto Bellinzani was een Italiaanse componist uit de eerste helft van de achttiende eeuw. Hij schreef verschillende blokfluitsonates. Dit adagio komt uit sonate nr. 10 in F majeur. In die tijd was het gebruikelijk om een soort vibrato met de vingers te spelen. De bibligliando-trillers doen me daaraan denken.

383 Donjon – Gigue from Études de Salon

Johannes Donjon served as principal flautist at the Paris Opéra. He also wrote several works for flute. His Etudes de Salon are famous and played by many flute players. In this exercise pizzicato is added to the study. A real challenge for coordination and very useful for practicing articulation.

Johannes Donjon was eerste fluitist aan de Opéra de Paris. Hij schreef ook verschillende werken voor fluit. Zijn Etudes de Salon zijn beroemd en worden door veel fluitisten gespeeld. In deze oefening is pizzicato aan de étude toegevoegd. Een echte uitdaging voor de coördinatie en heel nuttig voor het oefenen van de articulatie.

For a Flute Colors flute day I was asked to create an exercise on ‘Take My Breath Away’, the title song of the movie ‘Top Gun’ with Tom Cruise from 1986. Back then the song won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song. Now we can play it with Flute Colors.

Voor een Flute Colors fluitdag werd mij gevraagd een oefening te maken op ‘Take My Breath Away’, de titelsong van de film ‘Top Gun’ met Tom Cruise uit 1986. Destijds won het nummer de Academy Award en de Golden Globe voor Beste Originele Nummer. Nu kunnen we het spelen met Flute Colors.
