This piece is taken from Bartók’s Romanian Christmas Carols, arranged for flute ensemble. He used the time signature 4/8 + 3/8 for each measure. The melody can be found in several parts, accompanied by pizzicato playing in the other parts.

Dit stuk is afkomstig uit Bartóks Roemeense kerstliederen, gearrangeerd voor fluitensemble. Hij gebruikte de maatsoort 4/8 + 3/8 voor elke maat. De melodie is in meerdere partijen te horen, begeleid door pizzicato in de andere partijen.

 336 Rameau – Hymne à la nuit

Jean-Philippe Rameau was a French composer from the Baroque period. He wrote this piece which means ‘Hymn to the Night’. I replaced the grace notes with quarter tones. It gives a nice effect and we can practice fingerings for the quarter tones.

Jean-Philippe Rameau was een Franse componist uit de barokperiode. Hij schreef dit stuk dat ‘Hymne aan de nacht’ betekent. Ik heb de versieringen vervangen door kwarttonen. Dat geeft een mooi effect en we kunnen grepen voor de kwarttonen oefenen.
